Cutting Calories Increases Chance of Losing Weight
Posted by KavinWe have heard that cutting carbs will do the trick, and we have also heard that eating foods high in protein will help shedd the baggage.
The latest study however goes back to basics, finding that simply reducing calories will result in weight loss.
According to researchers, it is very simple, put into the body, fewer calories and the result is, increased weight loss due to the body not storing excess calories as fat.
For their study, 811 overweight or obese volunteers signed up to follow 1 of 4 diets to determine which was the most effective.
The types of diets that participants were assigned too were low-carb, high protein, low fat, and low calory.
The researchers noted that no matter which diet a person was on, if their caloric intake was low, their weight loss was consistent.
The new study is published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
